The TZ is Lexus's first three-row, all-electric SUV, announced by Lexus Canada on May 6, 2026 for the 2027 model year. It sits on Lexus's TNGA platform with a low-floor, long-wheelbase layout, second-row captain's chairs and an opening panoramic roof, and Lexus Canada says it has the quietest cabin among Lexus SUVs. There are two lithium-ion batteries, 77.0 kWh and 95.8 kWh, and every grade has DIRECT4 all-wheel drive, with Dynamic Rear Steering available. Lexus Canada gives a manufacturer-estimated range of up to 480 km (298 mi) on select grade and a towing capacity of up to 3,500 lb (1,588 kg), and the Canadian model has a NACS charging port. Lexus Canada said grade and pricing information would be available later in 2026; as of October 28, 2026 it has not published TZ grades, prices, power figures or an on-sale date. Power and charging speed figures in this guide come from Toyota's global release, are prototype values that vary by region, and are labelled as such. Natural Resources Canada has not rated the TZ yet.

What Canadian shoppers ask

The questions TZ shoppers bring to the showroom.

Drawn from the questions Lexus EV and three-row SUV shoppers commonly raise in comments on MotorMouth's Lexus videos (MotorMouth has no TZ comment data yet, so these come from 653 comments on its RZ videos and 908 comments on its TX videos) posted since 2023 on the MotorMouth YouTube channel. Question themes sit apart from verified vehicle facts and help prepare a more useful test drive.

01

How far will it go on a charge?

Electric power and range come up in 236 comments on MotorMouth's RZ videos, more than any other theme there. Lexus Canada gives the TZ a manufacturer-estimated range of up to 480 km (298 mi) on select grade, at 100% charge in 20 to 30 °C, and says actual range varies with weather and other factors. There are two batteries, 77.0 kWh and 95.8 kWh, but Lexus Canada has not said which grades get which battery or published range for the others. Natural Resources Canada has not rated the TZ yet. One viewer wrote about the RZ, Lexus's smaller EV: "I have wanted to like the RZ since Lexus first came out with it, but it really sounds like they upgraded the range from pathetically inadequate to merely inadequate."

Take this to your test drive

Ask which battery and wheel size the TZ you drive has, work out your longest regular trip, and add a winter margin.

02

How fast does it charge?

The Canadian TZ has a NACS port in a Lexus-first 2-in-1 design with AC and DC connectors side by side under a motorized cover, according to Lexus Canada. It can precondition the battery before charging in the cold, on the way to a charger (with an Active Drive Connect subscription) or for a set departure time. Lexus Canada has not published charging power or times. Toyota's global release lists up to 11 kW or 19 kW AC charging on NACS and about 35 minutes from 10 to 80% on a 150 kW charger at about 25 °C, as prototype figures that vary by region. One viewer asked about the RZ: "Now that the RZ has NACS charging, that or Tesla y for a long road trip?"

Take this to your test drive

Ask for the confirmed Canadian on-board charger rating before you price a home Level 2 charger, and which public networks the TZ can use.

03

What will it cost?

Price and value come up in 230 comments on MotorMouth's RZ and TX videos. Lexus Canada has not announced TZ pricing. Its May 6, 2026 release said grade and pricing information would be available later in 2026, and as of October 28, 2026 no TZ grades or prices appear on Lexus Canada's media site.

Take this to your test drive

Wait for Lexus Canada's published MSRP before committing, then ask for the all-in price with freight and fees in writing and which EV rebates, if any, apply.
