The 2026 MDX is Acura's seven-passenger SUV, updated for 2025 with a new front, a redesigned centre console and a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Google built-in that replaces the old trackpad. In Canada every MDX has all-wheel drive and a 10-speed automatic. The MDX uses a 3.5-litre V6 with 290 hp and 267 lb-ft, and the MDX Type S a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 with 355 hp and 354 lb-ft, air suspension and Brembo brakes, according to MotorMouth's notes; premium fuel is recommended for both. Acura Canada lists the MDX as a 2026 model and says MDX sales are up 18% this year. Figures come from Zack and Andrea Spencer's MotorMouth review notes for the 2025 MDX; their prices are 2025 figures, shown for reference. Measurements published in inches and cubic feet are converted to metric.

What Canadian shoppers ask

The questions MDX shoppers bring to the showroom.

Drawn from 1,264 comments on MotorMouth's MDX videos posted since 2023 on the MotorMouth YouTube channel. Question themes sit apart from verified vehicle facts and help prepare a more useful test drive.

01

What does it cost?

Price and value come up in 267 comments on MotorMouth's MDX videos, more than any other theme. MotorMouth's notes for the 2025 MDX list the Tech at $69,601, the A-Spec at $72,601, the Platinum Elite A-Spec at $77,601 and the Type S Ultra at $90,651, all including freight, PDI and fees. Acura Canada now sells the 2026 MDX; ask the retailer for the current all-in price.

Ask for the 2026 all-in price in writing, and check whether any 2025 stock or lease offer is available.

02

MDX or Type S?

Engine and power come up in 168 comments. The MDX's 3.5-litre V6 makes 290 hp; the Type S's 3.0-litre turbo V6 makes 355 hp and adds height-adjustable air suspension, Brembo brakes, torque vectoring, a Sport+ mode and AcuraWatch 360 driver assistance. MotorMouth's notes call the MDX nimble for its size and the Type S a terrific-handling three-row SUV.

Take this to your test drive

Drive both on the same road, and try the regular MDX in Comfort and Sport modes.

03

How usable is the third row?

Space and seating come up in 50 comments. The MDX seats seven. Third-row legroom is 739 mm (29.1 in), and MotorMouth's notes compare it with the Lexus TX, which has more than 100 mm (4 in) more there. One owner wrote after a road trip: "I bought one in May and love it. We just took it on a long road trip and it’s the most comfortable SUV we’ve owned."

Take this to your test drive

Sit in the third row yourself, and if you carry adults back there, bring one along.

04

How much cargo space is there?

Cargo space is 513 L (18.1 cu ft) behind the third row, 1,371 L (48.4 cu ft) behind the second row and 2,690 L (95 cu ft) overall, according to MotorMouth's notes.

With all three rows up, try loading your stroller or a week of groceries.

05

How much fuel does it use?

Fuel economy comes up in 118 comments. MotorMouth's notes give the MDX AWD 12.6 L/100 km (19 mpg US) city and 9.4 L/100 km (25 mpg US) highway, and the Type S 13.8 L/100 km (17 mpg US) city and 11.2 L/100 km (21 mpg US) highway. Premium fuel is recommended for both. One Type S owner wrote: "I drive a 2025 Acura MDX Type S and I always put premium fuel in it as recommended."

06

What changed in the update?

The cabin and technology come up in 241 comments, and not everyone was glad to see the trackpad go. The 2025 update brought a new front fascia and grille, darker lights, a redesigned centre console with more storage, a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Google built-in in place of the trackpad, and new Bang & Olufsen systems with 19 or 31 speakers. MotorMouth's notes still find some shiny hard plastic in the cabin and a push-button shifter. One owner wrote: "2024 MDX advance owner. I love the trac pad now. Much easier to use than touch screen."

Take this to your test drive

Spend time with the touchscreen and the shifter while parked, then again on the road.

07

Is it ready for a Canadian winter?

Winter and all-wheel drive come up in 32 comments. All-wheel drive, heated front and rear seats and a panoramic sunroof are standard in Canada. Ground clearance is 185 mm (7.3 in), or up to 239 mm (9.4 in) on the Type S with its air suspension. The MDX has a temporary spare; the Type S has a tire repair kit. One owner in Manitoba wrote: "Fuel economy is great on road trips and, with Winnipeg winters, I'm getting around 12.2 L per 100 Kms."

Take this to your test drive

Ask about winter tires for the 20- or 21-inch wheels, and whether a heated steering wheel is included on your trim.

08

Can it tow, and what is the warranty?

Towing comes up in 25 comments. The MDX is rated to tow 5,000 lb (2,268 kg), according to MotorMouth's notes. The warranty is 4 years or 80,000 km (49,710 mi).
