The Passport was completely redesigned for 2026 on Honda's light-truck platform, with a boxier design, wider tracks and 31-inch all-terrain tires on every model, and in Canada every Passport is a TrailSport. It uses a 3.5-litre V6 with 285 hp, a new 10-speed automatic and second-generation i-VTM4 torque-vectoring all-wheel drive, and began arriving at Canadian dealers in May 2025. Prices, fuel ratings, specifications and equipment come from Honda Canada; regular fuel and storage details come from Zack and Andrea Spencer's MotorMouth review notes for the 2026 Passport.

What Canadian shoppers ask

The questions Passport shoppers bring to the showroom.

Drawn from 2,396 comments on MotorMouth's Passport videos posted since 2023 on the MotorMouth YouTube channel. Question themes sit apart from verified vehicle facts and help prepare a more useful test drive.

01

What is new for 2026?

Styling is the biggest theme, raised in 479 comments. The 2026 Passport is completely redesigned, with a rugged look, wider tracks and 18-inch wheels with 31-inch tires on every model. It moves to Honda's light-truck platform, with 72% higher front lateral rigidity and 50% higher rear torsional rigidity, according to Honda Canada, and gains a longer wheelbase, more cargo space and an expanded Honda Sensing suite. Sunset Orange and Ash Green Metallic are exclusive colours. Viewers liked the redesign from the first look: "Thank you for keeping V6 Honda. The new Passport looks great."

See it in daylight in the colour you want, and compare the standard and Blackout styling side by side.

02

What does it cost?

Price and value come up in 291 comments. Honda Canada lists the 2026 Passport TrailSport at $56,990 MSRP, the TrailSport Blackout at $58,190, the TrailSport Touring at $60,540 and the TrailSport Touring Blackout at $61,740, with $2,000 for freight and PDI and a $100 A/C charge. A Canadian owner of the redesigned Passport wrote: "I bought a Trailsport (non touring) here in Canada the day after they started showing up at dealerships, just as long as it took me to find the colour (Modern Steel Metallic) and trim I wanted, and I absolutely love it so far."

Ask for the all-in price with freight and fees, and decide whether the Touring features and Blackout look are worth the step up.

03

Why a V6?

Engine and power come up in 270 comments, and hybrid power in 322. Every Canadian Passport uses a 3.5-litre V6 with 285 hp and 262 lb-ft, a new 10-speed automatic with paddle shifters and second-generation i-VTM4 all-wheel drive, which can send up to 70% of torque to the rear axle and all of that to either rear wheel, according to Honda Canada. MotorMouth's review notes for the 2026 Passport add that it runs on regular fuel. One owner explained the choice: "It is absolutely what my wife and I were looking for hands down. The best SUV Honda has released EVER. It hits all the marks very well. One really pushed us here? The naturally aspirated V6."

04

How capable is it off the pavement?

Every 2026 Passport TrailSport has an off-road-tuned suspension, General Grabber all-terrain tires, steel skid plates for the oil pan, transmission and fuel tank, orange front recovery hooks and two rear recovery points, and a Trail drive mode. Honda Canada lists 210 mm (8.3 in) of ground clearance with a 23.0-degree approach angle and 23.1-degree departure angle. The Touring trims add the TrailWatch four-camera system.

Take this to your test drive

Ask the dealer to show you the Trail drive mode, and on a Touring the TrailWatch camera views, and try a gravel road if one is nearby.

05

Is it roomy?

Space and cargo come up in 106 comments. Honda Canada lists 1,043 mm (41.1 in) of front legroom and 1,039 mm (40.9 in) in the second row, with 1,246 L (44.0 cu ft) of cargo space behind the second row and 2,356 L (83.2 cu ft) behind the front row, 156 litres more than before. MotorMouth's review notes for the 2026 Passport mention a large console bin and 10 cupholders. One owner found room for building supplies: "I was able to load six-foot 2x4s in the back without adjusting the front seats."
