What Canadian shoppers ask

The questions EV3 shoppers bring to the showroom.

Drawn from 1,169 EV3 comments posted since 2023 on the MotorMouth YouTube channel. Question themes sit apart from verified vehicle facts and help prepare a more useful test drive.

01

Can I buy one in Canada?

Viewers have asked about Canadian timing since Zack and Andrea first drove the EV3 in South Korea. Kia Canada announced 2027 EV3 pricing on August 13, 2026, with vehicles expected at dealerships later that month. The EV3 GT is available by factory order. Canadian buyers are already picking theirs up: "I just bought a 2027 Kia EV3 Wind FWD. Pick up tomorrow."

Ask which trims and colours are on the ground now, and the delivery time for the one you want, especially the GT.

02

Which battery and drive should I choose?

Electric driving and charging come up in 297 comments, and winter driving and all-wheel drive in 68. The Light trim pairs the 58.3 kWh battery with front-wheel drive. The Wind, Land, GT-Line and GT-Line Limited have the 81.4 kWh battery with a choice of front-wheel drive at 201 hp or all-wheel drive at 262 hp and 284 lb-ft, according to MotorMouth's review notes. All-wheel drive adds $2,500 at each trim.

Take this to your test drive

Map your longest regular winter trip and pick the battery and drive that cover it with room to spare.

03

How far will it go?

Kia Canada estimates up to 517 km (321 mi) for the long-range FWD trims, 451 km (280 mi) for the long-range AWD trims and 356 km (221 mi) for the Light, in ideal conditions. A battery heating system is standard and a heat pump is available, according to MotorMouth's review notes. A Calgary owner wrote: "Had the EV3 Land FWD in Calgary for 3 weeks now, and we absolutely love this car. Under ideal weather conditions we have well exceeded the published 517 kms range."

Take this to your test drive

Ask whether the trim you want has the heat pump, and how the dealer suggests planning for winter range.

04

How fast does it charge?

Every EV3 has the North American Charging Standard (NACS) port. Kia Canada says the long-range battery charges from 10 to 80% in about 31 minutes on a 350 kW DC fast charger. MotorMouth's review notes list about 29 minutes for the standard-range battery, and about 7 hours from 10 to 80% on a Level 2 charger with the long-range battery. Vehicle-to-load (V2L) lets you power devices from the battery.

Take this to your test drive

Ask about adapters for CCS chargers, and ask the dealer about Kia Canada's VariableGrid home charging program when you price a Level 2 charger.

05

What does it cost?

Price and value come up in 275 comments. Kia Canada lists the 2027 EV3 from $36,995 for the Light FWD to $52,495 for the GT-Line Limited AWD, with the EV3 GT at $55,995. Kia Canada's all-in price for the Light FWD is $39,744, including $2,185 freight and other fees, before licence, insurance and taxes. One new owner wrote: "I just bought the EV3 GT-Line Limited all-wheel-drive in that absolutely gorgeous Azure blue a week ago, gotta say I'm in love. I think the GT-Line is worth the price."

Take this to your test drive

Ask for the all-in price with freight and fees, and confirm which federal and provincial EV rebates apply to the trim and price you choose.

06

Is it the right size for me?

Space, cargo and the rear seat come up in 40 comments. Kia Canada lists 740 L (26.1 cu ft) of cargo space behind the second row, a 25 L (0.9 cu ft) front trunk and rear seat backs that recline up to 40 degrees. MotorMouth's review notes list up to 1,600 L (56.5 cu ft) overall, with 1,059 mm (41.7 in) of front legroom and 950 mm (37.4 in) in the second row. One viewer wrote: "I know many Canadians families and also single people would like the new EV3 it’s a great size"

Bring the bags, strollers or sports gear you carry most, and try the reclining rear seat and the underfloor storage.

07

Does the design stand out?

Styling is discussed in 218 EV3 comments. Every EV3 has LED projection headlamps and flush door handles, with 17-inch wheels standard and 19-inch wheels available. The GT-Line adds sporty design elements, and the GT adds neon green accents inside and out, according to MotorMouth's review notes. One viewer wrote: "KIA has done amazing styling and offers features that give a premium ambiance for the money."

08

How does it drive?

Engine and power come up in 41 comments. Zack and Andrea found the EV3 quiet, smooth and refined, with very good visibility, an excellent turning radius and regenerative braking you adjust with the steering wheel paddles. The EV3 GT has 288 hp and 345 lb-ft, a sport-tuned suspension and a standard heat pump, and reaches 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.7 seconds, according to MotorMouth's review notes. A buyer in Vancouver wrote: "So far we absolutely love it. I did a lot of research before the purchase and am confident we made a good choice. It's an absolute pleasure to drive both in the city and on the highway."
