The LC is Lexus's four-seat grand touring car, offered for 2026 as the LC 500 coupe and the LC 500 Convertible. Both use a 5.0-litre naturally aspirated V8 rated at 471 hp at 7,100 rpm and 398 lb-ft at 4,800 rpm, a 10-speed Direct-Shift automatic with paddle shifters and rear-wheel drive. The LC 500h hybrid is not part of the 2026 Canadian lineup. New for 2026 are limited Inspiration Series models, 11 coupes and 29 convertibles for Canada, and Intuitive Parking Assist becomes standard. Five grades run from the LC 500 at $116,680 to the LC 500 Convertible Inspiration Edition at $135,425, according to Lexus Canada's July 18, 2025 releases, and Lexus Canada says the LC is built at the Motomachi Plant in Toyota City, Japan. Natural Resources Canada rates the coupe at 12.7 L/100 km (19 mpg US) combined on premium fuel.

What Canadian shoppers ask

The questions LC shoppers bring to the showroom.

Drawn from a small set of viewer comments, 71 that mention the LC (many of them about the Toyota Land Cruiser, which shares the nickname) including 5 on MotorMouth's two Lexus LC review videos, posted since 2023 on the MotorMouth YouTube channel. Question themes sit apart from verified vehicle facts and help prepare a more useful test drive.

01

Coupe or convertible?

Both have the same 471 hp V8, 10-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive. The LC 500 coupe starts at $116,680 and the LC 500 Convertible at $133,550, according to Lexus Canada. The Convertible's four-layer soft top opens or closes at up to 50 km/h (31 mph) in about 15 seconds to open and 16 to close. The coupe has more room: 153 L (5.4 cu ft) of cargo space against 96 L (3.4 cu ft), and 826 mm (32.5 in) of rear legroom against 712 mm (28.0 in), according to Lexus Canada's product information. Both seat four.

Take this to your test drive

Sit in the back seat of both, and on the Convertible run the roof through a full cycle and try a highway stretch with it up to judge wind and road noise.

02

What does it cost, and is it worth it?

Lexus Canada lists the 2026 LC from $116,680 for the LC 500 to $135,205 for the LC 500 Inspiration Edition coupe and $135,425 for the LC 500 Convertible Inspiration Edition. Lexus Canada's estimated vehicle price for the LC 500 is $120,080, including freight, PDI, the A/C charge and maximum dealer and other fees, before taxes and licence. Lexus Canada also offers a Bespoke Build program to configure wheels, spoiler, roof, trim and colours. A viewer asked MotorMouth: "Can you please test drive the 2024 Lexus LC 500 coupe?"

Take this to your test drive

Ask for the all-in price with freight and fees in writing, and ask whether the car you want is in stock or must be ordered.

03

Does it still have the V8, and what fuel does it take?

Yes. Every 2026 Canadian LC uses a 5.0-litre naturally aspirated V8 with 471 hp and 398 lb-ft, and Lexus Canada quotes 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds for the coupe and 5.0 seconds for the Convertible, with top speed electronically limited to 270 km/h (168 mph). Lexus Canada's product information calls for 91 octane or higher. Natural Resources Canada rates the coupe at 15.2 L/100 km (15 mpg US) city, 9.7 L/100 km (24 mpg US) highway and 12.7 L/100 km (19 mpg US) combined, and the Convertible at 13.0 L/100 km (18 mpg US) combined. An LC 500 owner wrote: "I’m a V8 guy as when I want to pass I don’t want to take a huge run at it."

Take this to your test drive

Budget for premium fuel, reset the trip computer at the start of your drive, and try a highway merge to feel how the V8 and 10-speed respond.

04

Can I still get the LC 500h hybrid?

Not for 2026 in Canada. Lexus Canada's model listings show the LC 500h through the 2025 model year, while the 2026 releases cover only the LC 500 coupe and LC 500 Convertible, and Natural Resources Canada's 2026 ratings list no LC 500h. Every 2026 LC is a V8.

Take this to your test drive

If you want the hybrid, ask the dealer whether any 2025 LC 500h stock remains and compare it with a 2026 LC 500 on the same drive.

05

Is the Performance Package worth it?

The LC 500 Performance Package is $129,485, against $116,680 for the LC 500, according to Lexus Canada. It adds a Torsen limited-slip rear differential with a performance damper, performance brake pads and Alcantara-trimmed seats. The LC 500 Inspiration Edition at $135,205 adds Smoke Matte Gray paint, a carbon fibre roof and rear spoiler, 21-inch Matte Black forged wheels, sport seats, a head-up display, Mark Levinson audio and Active Rear Steering, with 11 for Canada.

Take this to your test drive

If you can, drive a base LC 500 and a Performance Package car on the same twisty road to feel the limited-slip differential and brakes.

06

What tech comes with it?

Every 2026 LC has a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Lexus Interface, over-the-air updates, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a Panoramic View Monitor and Intuitive Parking Assist, which becomes standard for 2026. Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 includes a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, all-speed dynamic radar cruise control, lane tracing assist and road sign assist. Remote Connect comes with a three-year trial, according to Lexus Canada. A viewer wrote when the update was announced: "The 2024 LC 500 is being updated, and it’s getting the new infotainment."

Take this to your test drive

Pair your phone on the test drive, try the touchscreen and voice controls, and use the Panoramic View Monitor while parking.
