The PHEV makes 323 hp and 369 lb-ft on premium fuel, and the new SC trims are estimated at 51 km (32 mi) of electric-only driving. Every CX-70 has an eight-speed automatic and i-Activ all-wheel drive. Canadian pricing runs from $48,999 for the PHEV GS SC to $68,300 for the PHEV Signature. What Canadian shoppers ask

The questions CX-70 shoppers bring to the showroom.

Drawn from 1,533 CX-70 comments posted since 2023 on the MotorMouth YouTube channel. Question themes sit apart from verified vehicle facts and help prepare a more useful test drive.

01

CX-70 or CX-90?

Space and seating come up in 235 comments, and many viewers ask how the CX-70 compares with the three-row CX-90. The CX-70 uses the same inline-six mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains as the CX-90, with two rows of seats and its own trims, from the GS-L MHEV and the PHEV GS SC up to the Signature. One viewer summed up the idea: "CX-70 is perfect for those who find CX-5/CX-50 too small, while CX-90's 7-seating configuration as too much SUV."

If you are deciding between the two, sit in both and fold the CX-70 rear seats to see the cargo floor you would use every day.

02

Mild hybrid or plug-in hybrid?

Hybrid and plug-in power come up in 259 comments. The PHEV makes 323 hp and 369 lb-ft on premium fuel, and Mazda Canada estimates about 51 km (32 mi) of electric-only driving for the new SC trims and 43 km (27 mi) for the GT. Mazda Canada says the PHEV GS SC qualifies for federal EV incentives of up to $2,500.
