The ID. Buzz is Volkswagen's battery-electric van, built in Hanover, Germany, and sold in Canada in its long-wheelbase North American form. 2025 is the only ID. Buzz model year Volkswagen Canada lists, and to mark the first year it offers two 1st Edition trims. The 1st Edition has a rear motor with 210 kW (282 hp) and 413 lb-ft and seats seven. The 1st Edition 4MOTION adds a front motor for all-wheel drive and 250 kW (335 hp), with six seats including second-row captain's chairs. Both use a 91 kWh gross (86 kWh net) lithium-ion battery. Volkswagen Canada does not publish an MSRP for the ID. Buzz; its buyer's guide refers shoppers to their dealer for price. Range and energy figures are Volkswagen Canada's published NRCan estimates.

Ask for the full price of the exact trim in writing, with freight, PDI and fees itemized, and ask which EV incentives apply where you live.

02

How far does it go, and how fast does it charge?

Electric power and range come up in 10 of the comments. Volkswagen Canada publishes NRCan estimated range of 377 km (234 mi) for the rear-drive 1st Edition and 372 km (231 mi) for the 4MOTION. DC fast charging peaks at 200 kW, with 10 to 80% in as little as 26 minutes, and 10 minutes adds about 130 km (81 mi). The 11 kW on-board charger fills the battery in about 9 hours, and a NACS adapter is available for Tesla Superchargers. One viewer weighing three-row EVs wrote: "VW ID Buzz if it had better Range."

Take this to your test drive

Map your longest regular trip against the range for your trim, and ask the dealer to show you how the charge port and NACS adapter work.

03

How many seats, and how much room?

Canada gets the long-wheelbase ID. Buzz. The 1st Edition seats seven on a 2/3/2 layout and the 4MOTION seats six with second-row captain's chairs. The second row slides and the third row is removable. Cargo space is 527 L (18.6 cu ft) behind the third row, 2,138 L (75.5 cu ft) behind the second and 4,120 L (145.5 cu ft) behind the first, according to Volkswagen Canada. A viewer asked before launch: "So Canada will get both the short and long wheel base ID Buzz?"

Take this to your test drive

Bring car seats and your usual cargo, try the third row yourself, and slide the second row to see how much space you can trade.

04

Rear drive or 4MOTION, and can it tow?

The 1st Edition has a 210 kW (282 hp) rear motor and reaches 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.8 seconds. The 4MOTION adds a front motor for 250 kW (335 hp), all-wheel drive and 6.4 seconds. Volkswagen Canada's technical data lists braked towing of 1,179 kg (2,599 lb) for the 1st Edition and 1,588 kg (3,501 lb) for the 4MOTION, and a retractable hitch is standard, with the mount and ball sold separately.

Take this to your test drive

Drive both trims if you can, check the turning circle in a parking lot, and confirm the towing rating for your exact trim before you hitch up.

05

What tech and features come with it?

Styling comes up in 5 comments and interior and tech in 4. Both trims have a 12.9-inch touchscreen with navigation, a head-up display, a 360-degree camera, 13-speaker Harman Kardon audio, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Travel Assist, power sliding doors and heated, ventilated and massaging front seats.
