Drawn from 671 comments on MotorMouth's Jetta and GLI videos posted since 2023 on the MotorMouth YouTube channel. Question themes sit apart from verified vehicle facts and help prepare a more useful test drive.

01

What changed with the update?

Styling comes up in 107 comments. When Zack and Andrea reviewed the refreshed 2025 Jetta, it had an updated front fascia with new upper and lower grilles, new LED headlamps, an available front light bar, a new trunk lid and a standard light bar connecting the taillights. The GLI adds its own grille with honeycomb detailing and a red accent strip, wider dual exhaust tips and 18-inch wheels. One viewer wrote after the review: "This refreshed 2025 design looks so good. It's genuinely handsome."

02

What does it cost?

Price and value come up in 124 comments. Volkswagen Canada has not published 2026 Jetta and Jetta GLI pricing yet. A current owner wrote: "I love VW. They give you a lot of value for the money. I've had my 2025 Jetta for 18 months now, and I still love it."

03

Should I get the Jetta or the GLI?

Engine and power come up in 64 comments. Natural Resources Canada lists the 2026 Jetta with a 1.5-litre turbo four and the GLI with a 2.0-litre turbo four. MotorMouth's review notes on the 2025 GLI describe a multi-link rear suspension with stiffer springs and a lower stance, adaptive damping, an electronically controlled front limited-slip differential, larger front brakes and a sport exhaust, while still keeping a good balance of comfort. One viewer wrote: "If I was in the market for a 4-door sedan, the GLI would be at the top of my list."

Drive both on the same route, including a highway merge and a few corners, to see whether the GLI's extra power and firmer setup suit you.

04

Can I still get a manual?

The transmission comes up in 28 comments. The Jetta comes with an eight-speed automatic, and the GLI is offered with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic or a six-speed manual, as listed in Natural Resources Canada's 2026 ratings. MotorMouth's notes say dual-clutch GLI models have paddle shifters.

If you want the manual, ask the dealer how many are in stock or how long one takes to order.

05

07

What tech comes with it?

Interior and tech come up in 65 comments. In MotorMouth's review of the refreshed 2025 model, an 8-inch touchscreen and 8-inch digital driver display were standard, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto one trim up and a 10.25-inch digital display on higher trims. The volume and tuning knobs remain. Available features included a wireless charger, a power driver's seat, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, 10-colour ambient lighting and a 6-speaker Beats audio system.

Ask the dealer which of these features come on the 2026 trim you are considering, and pair your phone on the test drive.

08

Is it roomy and ready for winter?

Space and rear seats come up in 20 comments and winter driving in 18. MotorMouth's review notes on the 2025 Jetta list 1,044 mm (41.1 in) of front legroom, 950 mm (37.4 in) of rear legroom and 399 L (14.1 cu ft) of trunk space, with heated front seats and a heated steering wheel standard in Canada. Every Jetta and GLI is front-wheel drive.

Budget for winter tires, check the trunk with your usual cargo, and ask whether the trim you want has a spare tire or a repair kit.
