Drawn from 2,136 Tiguan comments posted since 2023 on the MotorMouth YouTube channel. Question themes sit apart from verified vehicle facts and help prepare a more useful test drive.

01

How does the new design look?

Styling is the biggest theme, raised in 446 comments. Compared with the previous generation, the Tiguan is 43 mm (1.7 in) shorter and 13 mm (0.5 in) wider on the same wheelbase, with shorter overhangs, slimmer headlamps, an available front light bar and a rear light bar. The Comfortline R-Line Black Edition adds black exterior accents and 20-inch black wheels, while the Highline Turbo R-Line has R-Line styling with chrome. One viewer summed it up: "VW Tiguan looks great inside and out."

02

Which engine should I choose?

Engine and power come up in 425 comments. The first three trims have a 201 hp, 221 lb-ft 2.0-litre turbo four. The Highline Turbo R-Line adds 67 hp and 51 lb-ft for 268 hp and 258 lb-ft, using a larger turbocharger, stronger pistons and connecting rods and paddle shifters. Both run on regular fuel, and the new Tiguan is 77 kg (170 lb) lighter than before. One viewer had already decided: "I'm getting the 268hp for sure."
