What Canadian shoppers ask

The questions EX30 shoppers bring to the showroom.

Drawn from 749 comments on MotorMouth's EX30 videos posted since 2023 on the MotorMouth YouTube channel. Question themes sit apart from verified vehicle facts and help prepare a more useful test drive.

01

What will it cost?

Price and value come up in 218 comments on MotorMouth's EX30 videos, more than any other theme. Volvo Canada has not posted 2027 EX30 pricing and says to contact a retailer. For reference, MotorMouth's February 2026 notes listed the 2026 EX30 in Canada from $53,548 for the Core RWD to $62,398 for the Ultra AWD, and $63,398 for the Cross Country Ultra AWD.

Take this to your test drive

Wait for the published 2027 price, then ask for the all-in price with freight, PDI and fees in writing and whether any EV incentive applies.

02

When can I get one?

Volvo Canada says first EX30 deliveries are expected in early 2027 and that vehicle certification is pending.

Take this to your test drive

Ask the retailer about order timing and whether a deposit is refundable.

03

How far will it go on a charge?

Electric range and charging come up in 163 comments. Volvo Canada estimates up to 407 km (253 mi) for the 2027 P8 AWD on 19-inch tires and up to 402 km (250 mi) on 20-inch tires. MotorMouth's notes list a 69 kWh battery and a standard heat pump.

04

How fast does it charge?

Volvo Canada says 10 to 80% takes about 27 minutes on a 150 kW DC fast charger. MotorMouth's notes list an 11 kW onboard charger and about 8 hours for a full Level 2 charge.

Check the fast chargers on your usual routes, and price a Level 2 charger for home.

05

Is it big enough?

Space and rear seats come up in 31 comments. The EX30 is Volvo's smallest SUV. MotorMouth's notes give front legroom of 1,064 mm (41.9 in), second-row legroom of 820 mm (32.3 in), cargo space of 317 L (11.2 cu ft) behind the second row and 787 L (27.8 cu ft) overall, and a 7 L front trunk. Their notes say the rear seat is small and may not suit you if you often carry passengers. One viewer who drives mostly alone wrote: "I like this a lot, but since it's just me, I'm going with the EX30....it's perfect."

Bring the people and things you carry most often and try the rear seat and cargo area yourself.

06

What is the Cross Country?

The EX30 Cross Country is a more rugged version with almost 25 mm (1 in) more ground clearance, cladding, front and rear skid plates, standard 19-inch wheels with 18-inch all-terrain tires available, and a softer suspension, according to MotorMouth's February 2026 notes. Volvo Canada lists it for 2027 but has not posted its specs.

If you drive gravel or snowy side roads, ask to drive both versions back to back.

07

How does the screen-only cabin work?

The cabin and screen come up in 125 comments. There is no separate driver display: the 12.3-inch centre touchscreen shows speed and handles most controls, with shortcuts you can personalize, according to MotorMouth's notes. They found it more intuitive than expected, though they would prefer more buttons.

Take this to your test drive

Before you drive, set the mirrors, wipers and climate from the screen to see how quickly you adapt.

08

Can it tow, and what is the warranty?

MotorMouth's notes rate the EX30 to tow 2,000 lb (907 kg). The warranty is 4 years or 80,000 km (49,710 mi).
