The 2027 EX60 is a new mid-size electric SUV built on Volvo's SPA3 platform, designed only for electric power with an 800-volt system. In Canada it uses the P10 AWD powertrain: a 95 kWh battery, 503 hp and 524 lb-ft, with an estimated range of up to 531 km (330 mi) on 20- or 21-inch tires and up to 502 km (312 mi) on 22-inch tires, according to Volvo Canada. Volvo Canada says three powertrains are planned; the P10 is the one detailed for Canada so far. It comes in Plus and Ultra trims, is built in Torslanda, Sweden, and is close in size to the XC60 but longer, with a longer wheelbase. Prices and most equipment figures come from Zack and Andrea Spencer's MotorMouth review notes; range, output and charging time come from Volvo Canada. Measurements published in inches and cubic feet are converted to metric.

Ask for the all-in price in writing, and check whether any federal or provincial EV incentive applies at this price before you sign.

02

Plus or Ultra?

Both trims share the same P10 AWD powertrain, battery and range. The Ultra adds the Bowers & Wilkins audio system with headrest speakers and the electrochromic glass roof that switches from clear to frosted, according to Volvo Canada; MotorMouth's notes add ventilated front seats, Nappa leather and a memory passenger seat to the available equipment. One viewer wrote after the review: "I love this EX60 - inside and out"

It has a 22 kW onboard charger for AC charging, a NACS port and vehicle-to-load to power devices, according to MotorMouth's notes.

Take this to your test drive

Check which fast chargers on your usual routes are 800-volt capable, and whether your home panel can support a higher-power Level 2 charger.
