The XC60 is Volvo's compact luxury SUV, refreshed for 2026 with a new grille, darker rear lights, new materials and a larger, faster 11.2-inch touchscreen, and Volvo Canada now lists it as a 2027 model. Every Canadian XC60 has all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic. The B5 mild hybrid has a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with a 48-volt system and 247 hp. The T8 plug-in hybrid combines a 247 hp gas engine and a 154 hp electric motor for up to 401 hp, according to Volvo Canada, with up to 56 km (35 mi) of electric range. Trims are Core, Plus, Ultra and Black Edition, plus a Polestar Engineered plug-in hybrid. Prices on this page are the 2026 Canadian prices from Zack and Andrea Spencer's MotorMouth review notes; Volvo Canada does not list 2027 MSRPs on its site. MotorMouth's notes also cover a long-range 2028 XC60 plug-in hybrid with a 37.9 kWh battery and up to 126 km (78 mi) of electric range, which is not yet on sale.

Price and value come up in 124 comments on MotorMouth's XC60 videos. MotorMouth's September 2025 notes list the 2026 XC60 B5 mild hybrid from $61,198 for the Core to $73,648 for the Black Edition Ultra, and the T8 plug-in hybrid from $68,548 for the Core to $96,048 for the Polestar Engineered, all including freight, PDI and fees. Volvo Canada now lists the 2027 model year and shows lease and finance examples on its offers page, but no 2027 MSRPs on its site.

The plug-in hybrid and electric driving come up in 223 comments, more than any other theme. The B5 mild hybrid has 247 hp, according to Volvo Canada, and uses its 48-volt system to smooth takeoffs; it never drives on electricity alone. The T8 plug-in hybrid has up to 401 hp combined and up to 56 km (35 mi) of electric range, according to Volvo Canada, with a Pure mode for electric driving. The Core plug-in hybrid costs $7,350 more than the Core B5 in MotorMouth's 2026 prices.

How much fuel does it use?

Fuel economy comes up in 34 comments. MotorMouth's notes give the B5 10.0 L/100 km (24 mpg US) city and 7.8 L/100 km (30 mpg US) highway. The T8 is rated at 3.7 Le/100 km combined on electricity and gas and 8.5 L/100 km (28 mpg US) combined once the battery is depleted.

How long does the plug-in hybrid take to charge?

The T8 has an 18.8 kWh battery and a 3.7 kW onboard charger, so a full charge on a Level 2 charger takes about five hours, according to MotorMouth's notes and Volvo Canada. It does not use DC fast chargers. One viewer pointed out: "The big advantage of a PHEV is that you only need a 120 volt 15 amp wall plug for at home charging"

Which trim should I choose?

The cabin and technology come up in 134 comments, and several viewers ask why Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are still wired. Core, Plus, Ultra and the darker Black Edition are offered with both powertrains, and the Polestar Engineered T8 adds Brembo brakes and a Polestar-tuned chassis. Available features include a heated steering wheel, head-up display, Pilot Assist, a 360-degree camera, ventilated and massaging front seats, heated rear seats, active air suspension and Harman Kardon or Bowers & Wilkins audio.
